The Nigerian Society of Engineering Technicians is a mandatory organization for all practicing technicians and one of the four Engineering Professional bodies recognized by law in Nigeria. NISET was incorporated and registered in April 2005 with registration No: RC622474.
NISET came to lime light following the amendment of decree 27/1992 of the Council of Registered Engineers (COREN) to Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) Cap E11 2004 now Engineers (Registration, etc) (Amendment) Act 2018 which recognized the existence of other Engineering Professional Bodies including NISET. All the Cadre were accorded representation in the COREN Council to regulate the practice of Engineering in all its aspects and ramifications in Nigeria.
OBJECTIVES OF NISET INCLUDE:
- 1. To provide a central organization for Engineering Technicians in Nigeria.
- 2. To maintain strict standard of Professional Ethics among Engineering Technicians in Nigeria.
- 3. To promote, protect, encourage and maintain a high standard of studies in technical education and practice in Nigeria.
- 4. To conduct and organize seminars, conferences, workshops, meetings, courses, symposia, role-playing exercise and competitions of technical interest in Nigeria.
- 5. To present to the Government in Nigeria, the views of the society on any subject of interest to Engineering Technicians in Nigeria.
