MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

The following are the categories for membership of NISET:

A.  CORPORATE MEMBER

i.  Title to be used – MNISET: Election to corporate membership are for persons who hold a national Diploma (ND), C & G Full Technological Certificate (FTC/FTD), (ANTC) from NABTEB, Diploma Programme from Universities, Polytechnics, NTA College, Diploma from Metallurgical Training Centre, and Nigerian Certificate/Diploma the Society may count worthy of acceptance. Corporate members are practicing and have had basic experience of at least 3 years in the profession.

ii.  Fellow – FNISET: Election to fellowship of the society shall either be by invitation of the National Executive Council of the Society or by direct application of a member who has met all the provision of the NISET Memorandum and Article of Association (M&AA) for fellowship of the Society.

B.  AFFILIATE MEMBERS

i.  Students: Student membership are for students who are undergoing a course of technical studies in the Polytechnics, Universities and Technical Colleges of a duration not less than two years approved by Council in pursuit of qualification as mentioned above.

ii.  Graduate: Graduate members are person who have obtained qualifications mention in A(i) above and are in the practice of the profession. They are yet to complete their mandatory three(3) years work experience for  registration as corporate members.

iii.  Associates:

Title to be used – ANISET:  These are persons in the practice of the Engineering Profession whose basic qualifications are not for registration as corporate members. However they have over three years experience in practice.

iv.  Honorary Fellow: Election to honorary Fellowship are by invitation of the National Executive Council.
